In recent weeks, many of you may have seen the Leukaemia Foundation’s quirky World’s Greatest Shave advertising campaign. That is because it is shave season in which all Australians are encouraged to ‘get brave and shave’ (or even consider a simple hair-dying). The event is organised by Lifewise community partner, the Leukaemia Foundation.
The money raised by people volunteering to shave off their hair will be contributed to the Leukaemia Foundation and will help support patients and their families when they need it most. Funds raised will provide regional Leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma patients with a free home-away-from-home near hospital during treatment and will also go towards research into better treatments and cures.
For those who aren’t quite brave enough to shave off their hair, the Leukaemia Foundation is encouraging people to dye their hair whatever colour they fancy. Events will be happening all around Australia – including Crazy Hair Day for kids which will be held in 1000 schools Australia-wide on March 11. People can shave or colour their hair throughout March.
